Contemporary Worship Music
About the Author
"Over ten years ago, my traditional
home church started a
contemporary worship service.  As
the Director of Contemporary
Worship Music, I did not want to
give up the traditional hymns that I
knew and loved.  Therefore, I
modified the rhythms of over 200
traditional hymns so that they
could be incorporated into a
contemporary worship service.  My
desire to include traditional hymn
words and melodies in
contemporary worship along with
my participation in the planning,
start-up, operation and expansion
of a thriving contemporary worship
service led to the development of
the Contemporary-Worship-Music
website."
A native of rural Oklahoma, Ann
attended Northern Oklahoma
College (NOC) her freshman year
where she was a vocalist in a female
trio that performed in the surrounding
community and state of Oklahoma
throughout the school year.  The trio,
along with another NOC musical
group, ended the school year with a
three-week trip overseas as goodwill
ambassadors to Romania.  Ann then
transferred to Oklahoma State
University where she graduated with
a B.S. Degree in Chemical
Engineering.  Following graduation,
she went to work for a large
chemical company in Louisiana.
After five years with the company,
Ann made a succession of moves
with her family to Texas, Oklahoma
and Ohio.  Ann then returned with
her family to Oklahoma where she
has made her home for the last 18
years.
Ann has been married for over 30 years to her college sweetheart and has two
grown children.  After the birth of her first child, Ann became a full-time homemaker.
In addition to her music and volunteer activities, Ann enjoys playing tennis and
taking care of her extended family.
